A showcase of the exploration of colors in nature.
An ode to my gaggle of miscreants!
All my fellow DMs out there know that when you are a DM you don’t get to play your own characters very much. I was inspired by Tarot styled character art that had been showcased in one of my favorite video game series (Dragon Age) to create my own set of Character inspired tarot cards for my own Dungeons and Dragons characters. Each card personifies the character and their abilities as well as any backstories, and serves as a sort of visual bio into who they really are.
This has been a really fun personal project that has helped strengthen my artistic abilities in more ways than one, and a really fun way to cool down from some of my other projects.
A symbolic and fantasy fusion of flowers and magic. Flowers have always been a passion of mine and are included in much of my artwork. This series personifies the nature of a flower, rich with fairy wild aesthetics and magic, I wanted to be able to present the flower in a way that illustrated the beauty and ferocity of nature, something that is beautiful to behold, but never truly yours to keep.
A collection of artwork from my Webcomic: The Garden
An exploration of color and composition, Calendar Girl is a collection of illustrations of the Months of the year personified. I wanted to focus on the use of color as a main theme, relying less on the drawing like I use often in my other work, and more on a painted, flat color technique that I admired.
“There is always in February some one day, at least, when one smells the yet distant, but surely coming summer,”
-Gertrude Jekyll
“March brings breezes loud and shrill, stirs the dancing daffodil,”
-Sara Coleridge, The Garden Year
Windows into another world. This group of artwork illustrates the idea of something breaking the window that it is being viewed through. I am attracted to the visual appeal of a simple geometric shape with elements that escape the “box” that contains it. Like a good story, the images are meant to be a window into something curious, drawing you in closer to get a better look into their world, for better or for worse.
Plants and Animals have always had a special place in my creative eye and inspiration as an illustrator. From a young age I have nurtured a love for plants and flowers, fostered by watching my mother and grandmother work with them. Flowers, plants and foliage have always been a huge inspiration in my creative process and they are often the star players in my illustrations. Flora & Fauna celebrates my love for the natural world and the wonderful creations that fill it. Many of these illustrations are narrative in nature, symbols of a deeper meaning or emotion.
La Fleur is a celebration of flowers. I have always enjoyed flowers and I simply cannot seem to get enough of them in my work, so this series is dedicated specifically to them, but in French because I think that Flowers always sound so pretty in French.
Mandy, Joan, Rebecca, and Kimi, brought together by strange circumstances in their little town of Willow Creek, have embarked on a journey of discovery and danger when their town and the residents are threatened with the existence of an Extraterrestrial species that has been ritualistically harvesting the minds and wills of the local townsfolk. Their individual strengths combined make them the perfect team of women to face this unknown danger, but do they have the will to be able to face the challenges that lie ahead of them? Are they prepared to face the knowledge that we may not be as alone in this Universe as we thought we were? There is only one thing that is clear, no matter what comes, they will have to rely on each other to discover the truth of what lies beyond.
Mason Arthur Matheson is just an ordinary straight A high school student, but when he literally falls into the world of Faeries and magic everything changes, for within Mason lies a magical potential to unlock a power that has been dormant for more than an age.
This is the concept and Illustrative work for the webcomic “Tithe”
My contribution to the anthology project called “the Moon Goddess,” a conceptual book created by myself and nine other artists all surrounding the theme of the Moon Goddess, and what she is. My story and depiction was based off the Chinese Myth of Chang’e
